Torikami
Experience the Authentic Flavors of Japan
Torikami is a top-notch yakitori restaurant offering a unique dining experience. Our owner, trained at a Michelin-starred yakitori restaurant in Tokyo, prepares each dish with exceptional skill and care.
The name "Torikami" symbolizes our commitment to excellence and respect for the life of the ingredients we use, as if entrusted to us by a higher power.
We use premium Binchotan Charcoal, which provides high, consistent heat. This allows us to cook yakitori with a savory, perfectly charred surface and a juicy inside, locking in the umami for an incredible flavor.
At Torikami, we strive to bring out the best in our ingredients, offering a yakitori experience that is both delicious and respectful of traditional culinary practices. Whether you're a yakitori enthusiast or trying it for the first time, Torikami guarantees a memorable and exquisite meal.
The Chef and Owner
Born in the Okayama Prefecture in 1986. After six years of training at Japan's most difficult-to-reserve yakitori restaurant, he became the owner of Torioka (now Torikami) in
Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, in 2021.
During his elementary school years, he was taken to eat yakitori by his father, who owns a restaurant in Okayama. He was so impressed by the dish that he decided to pursue a career in sales at a food and beverage firm. However, in his late 20s, he made the decision to specialize in making yakitori.
After being offered the chance to work at a one-michelin star yakitori restaurant at the ideal moment, he spent a year there. He then spent two years working as a griller at a branch store. In 2020, he was given the responsibility of head chef for around two years.
In 2023, he opened Torikami Fukuoka Daimyo Garden in Fukuoka Prefecture, and in just six months, it became one of the top five yakitori restaurants in the area.
The Interior
Torikami was created with each guest's comfort, privacy, and authentic taste in mind. The stylish entrance leads into a trendy black room, a minimalist refuge that creates an unforgettable experience.
The counter is modeled after a "Noh stage". The white-wood bar serves as the stage, and the black seats serve as the seating area, where you can unwind from the stresses of everyday life while watching the chef's expert performance unfold in front of your eyes and enjoying your food and drinks. Torikami's goal is to create a location where visitors can experience the sensation of viewing a traditional theatrical performance.
